2016 FRC Robot
Project Overview
For my first year as a mentor the FRC game was all about crossing rough terrain. Our team went all out, using six 12-inch pneumatic wheels to glide over the obstacles. Our tenacious drive train also helped us push around other robots enabling us to disrupt other robots ability to score.
My Contributions
The students were responsible for designing and building the robot while the other mentors and I guided them along the way. Much of my contribution came before the build season even began in the form of training. I trained the students on CAD software as well as how to operate the machines that our team used to fabricate parts. I also acted as the drive team coach during our competitions. gaining invaluable experience in how to instruct others under pressure.
